Langport Tree Group

Set up in January 2011 Langport Tree Group was formed to:

• Raise awareness and campaign to protect our trees, particularly our landmark mature trees (from developers, misguided councils etc)
• Work with South Somerset District Council's tree officer to encourage him to keep the group informed about all tree felling requests in the Langport area and then inform the local community
• Encourage and organise tree planting and tree awareness events
• Let people know about available free trees
• Link with other tree groups in the UK, for example the Whalley Range Tree Group in Manchester which is opposing massive felling of mature trees

Our local tree wardens are:

Cara Naden, Hannah Aitken and Eve Kerswill
