Quantock Hills Petition

We, the undersigned, petition the Council to Object to the proposed disposals of land on The Quantock Hills.

We believe that Somerset County Council should retain ownership of all parts of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that it currently owns. For SCC to dispose of its holding for short-term financial gain will, in the long term, put at risk the protection and access to countryside that is enjoyed by so many.

The suggestion below that we all contact 38 degrees with a view to achieving the critical mass for them to take up the cause, also seems good.  We have to use all legitimate means to oppose the reckless and shameless trail of vandalism being perpetrated by the small clique now running the County Council, in the name of budget responsibility.
